MANSIL was established by Ellen Adams, King's College London. Her research investigates how Humanities scholars might engage with Disability Studies.
Access staff from over 20 London-based museums and art galleries have registered interest in MANSIL, in order to share practice, information and ideas.
MANSIL is related to a research project called: 'Ways of Seeing: Sensory Impairments and the Ancient World', led by Ellen Adams at King's College London.
The 'Ways of Seeing' project involves curated pop-up events in various museums to introduce visitors to audio description and Deaf-led tours in BSL.
MANSIL offers the opportunity for participants to hear about practices and initiatives happening in other institutions. We aim to host an annual workshop.
We aim to enable museums and other relevant organisations have access to other practices and programmes, via a closed platform. Contact us for more information.
